First night in Cancun

I(Emerald) definitely had a scare first getting to Cancun.  I walked out of the airport and was swarmed with taxi drivers and I kept pushing through until I got to what I thought was the bus station.  I was hustled by a shuttle man who hustled me into paying 150 pesos(15$)  to catch a shuttle with 7 other people because I was told that no more busses were running for at least 2 hours.(Later on I found out that they come every half hour and the bus station was just a block more away) So I caught this shuttle and was dropped off with everyone else on the shuttle at some random hostel and was told politely to get off because my hostel was only 2 blocks away.  So I hesitantly got off and started walking down some sketchy dark Cancun street in the middle of no where. Thank goodness I knew enough Spanish to ask my way around a little and managed to find my way after walking about ten extra blocks. I met some poor guy from Chicago on my walk who fell asleep on a bus and had his backpack stolen with everything in it.  He had no passport, no money, no nothing. I gave him enough money to have a snack and a place to sleep which helped him until the next day when his family was due to fly in and save his butt.  That gave me a little more optimism about my situation :) So I found my hostel after that which wasn´t too hard to find with a car parked in front with a bashed in windshield from a falling piece that came off the hostel building I was staying at. Haha, not the greatest first impression but the hostel turned out to be great.  I spend the next day at the beach and got a serious sunburn which was a lesson that needed to be learned about being a Canadian seeing summer for the first time in months. I´ll wear more sunscreen now! And that night I picked Britt up from the airport and we came back to the hostel and got a good sleep.  And our adventure officially begins.... NOW!
